Carbon Offsetting Clause

1. The parties acknowledge the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and commit to taking measures to offset the carbon emissions generated as a result of the contracted activities.
2. The Contractor shall calculate the estimated carbon emissions associated with the contracted activities using recognized industry standards and methodologies, such as the GHG Protocol or ISO 14064.
3. The Contractor shall propose a carbon offsetting plan detailing the specific offset projects or activities to be pursued.
4. The offset projects or activities shall meet internationally recognized standards, such as Verified Carbon Standard (VCS), Gold Standard, or similar reputable standards, ensuring the legitimacy and effectiveness of the offsetting efforts.
5. The Contractor shall bear the responsibility and cost of purchasing carbon offsets equivalent to the calculated carbon emissions associated with the contracted activities.
This Carbon Offsetting Clause will be binding on all parties to the contract and will survive the expiration or termination of the contract. The Contractor is responsible for all costs associated with purchasing carbon offsets and providing the necessary reports and documentation to support the offsetting efforts.
